NUR 4045 - Clinical Judgment in Adult Health

4 cr
This course builds upon the nursing knowledge gained in NUR 2045  and NUR 3045  in the care of the adult patient. Through the integration of liberal arts, natural and social science courses and the evidence-based knowledge of human systems in the adult population, the student will expand their knowledge to inform clinical judgment. Through classroom discussion, students will utilize case studies, scenarios and in-class activities to synthesize assessment data and patient preferences. This will enable the student to develop a list of health priorities, develop a plan of care, discuss implementation of that care, and recognize the need for ongoing patient evaluation. Through simulation experiences in this senior-level course, the student will serve as a role model and mentor to support the growth of other students, while simultaneously strengthening their use of the nursing process, as well as their skills of clinical reasoning, clinical judgment and person-centered care of diverse populations.
