NUR 4035 - Family-Centered Nursing Care for Infants, Children and Adolescents. 4 cr This course introduces the role of the professional nurse as a provider of care for children (from infancy to adolescence) within the context of the family-centered environment. Utilization of critical thinking skills in a systematic, problem solving process will be discussed as a framework for providing safe and effective care, promoting and restoring health, and fostering positive growth and development in the pediatric population. The student will learn how to apply research-based, best practices, and to integrate theory in the care of children and families in a variety of clinical settings. This course includes supervised laboratory, agency, and clinical practicums.
