AFF 2040 - Humane Animal Harvesting

This course provides instruction in the humane handling and ethical harvesting of livestock. Students will learn approved stunning methods, animal welfare regulations, and stress-reduction techniques that align with U.S. Dept. of Ag. (USDA) and American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) standards. Emphasis is placed on the moral, environmental, and economic benefits of humane harvest practices in small- and large-scale operations.

Lecture/Lab: 2 hours of lecture, 2 hours of lab
