Vermont State University offers a wide range of courses and academic programs across five campuses located throughout Vermont: Castleton, Johnson, Lyndon, Randolph, and Williston. Each campus provides a distinctive learning environment. Additional information about each location is available here.
Programs may be offered at one or more campuses and delivered through a variety of instructional modalities. This page is designed to help you explore your options and identify a program that aligns with your academic goals, interests, and preferred learning style. Definitions of program modalities are provided below.
In-Person - The student completes approximately 75% of the required program coursework through classes and instructional experiences scheduled on specific days and times at designated campus locations.
Hybrid – The student completes the required program coursework through a combination of in-person instruction and remote (synchronous) and/or online (asynchronous) instruction; specific use of these modalities may vary by campus, course, and term.
Remote – The student completes approximately 75% of the required program coursework through scheduled, synchronous class sessions delivered via digital technologies. The remaining coursework may be delivered through asynchronous online instruction.
Online - The student completes all coursework, including program requirements, general education courses, and elective courses in a 100% online asynchronous format.
