Program Description
The Graphic Design program at Vermont State University offers career-oriented courses in print production, branding identity, and publication for digital media. Our projects focus on content development, layout & composition, digital imaging, motion graphics, and typographic design.
The program is further supported by a well-rounded education in arts & humanities, fostering creative content through fine arts, writing, and video & animation. Each student is supported in finding and securing an internship experience or designing for not-for-profit organizations in a studio class, and in developing career-ready portfolios to start their professional path.
Students in our program walk away with a strong, diverse portfolio of relevant workplace experience. Classroom work is oriented towards authentic application - solutions designed to go into the real world and serve true purpose. Students in the Graphic Design BA will have constructed a portfolio of design projects that showcase their talents, technical skill, and creative approach. BA students will demonstrate competency in the program outcomes.
