COM 2145 - News Writing

3 cr
This course introduces the skills of gathering and writing news for a specific geographic coverage area over multiple platforms. Instruction covers journalistic style, grammar, interviewing techniqes, research techniques, and identifying stories and sources. The use of mobile technologies and computer assisted news reporting technologies may be used. Students will experience the deadline pressure of the News7/NewsLINC platforms. A C- or better is required for admission into the Newsroom practicum.

Prerequisite(s): COM 1125, COM 1220, ENG 1061, or permission of instructor
