ENG 1061 - English Composition GE 3 cr Students learn to write effective academic essays developed around a central thesis and concrete support. Instruction in conventional American English grammar, punctuation, spelling and usage, as well critical reading and thinking skills, are emphasized. Information literacy - particularly the collecting and evaluating of information - is also an essential course component. Students should complete this class in their first year.
