AER 2005 - Airframe Structures II


2.5 cr
Picking up from the end of AER 2003 , students will delve into the theory and practice of sheet metal repair and construction. This will include subjects such as bend allowance, load calculations, layout, forming and riveting. Starting with the different metal alloys, fasteners and tools used for construction, students will expand their sheetmetal skill-set by learning to fabricate simple parts then building a small wing spar section. At the conclusion of the course, repair processes will be discussed and practiced on their individual projects.

Lecture/Lab: 1 hour of lecture, 1.5 hours of lab
