ANT 2070 - Cities of the Past

Ancient cities and other urban settlements are rich contexts for examining the complex socioeconomic and ideological practices that shaped ancient societies. This course introduces a sampling of past cultures through an exploration of their largest settlements. Students will consider a diverse mix of ancient settlements from around the world, including talh, Tikal, Pompeii, Knossos, Chaco Canyon, and many others.

General Education: This course fulfills the Humanistic Perspectives general education requirement.
