AGR 1720 - Intro to Agriculture & Land Management 1 cr
This is a seminar course that is focused on orienting students to the academic and co-curricular life of the University, while exploring the core of agriculture and land management. Emphasis is placed on developing the skills and dispositions to be successful at Vermont State University. This course introduces the student to the study, management, and conservation of soils as media for plant growth and as components of the larger ecosystem. This course presents basic concepts of soil science, with a focus on conservation. It introduces the relationships of soil to current environmental concerns regarding water quality and non-agricultural land use.
