CCV Allied Health Prep Certificate to VTSU Nursing (PN, AS)

Catalog Year: 2026-2027

Program Codes: S.CT.LPN.PTH; S.AS.NUR.PTH

This transfer pathway will help you plan courses at the Community College of Vermont (CCV) that will meet course specific requirements at VTSU.   

CCV and VTSU are both a part of the Vermont State College System (VSCS). Students have one common VSCS transcript. As such, courses taken at CCV are not considered transfer credit.  
VTSU is a partner in the Vermont Transfer Guarantee, https://ccv.edu/academics/transfer-from-ccv/vermont-transfer-guarantee/ 
Students who have completed an associate degree at the CCV will have completed all associate-level general education requirements at VTSU.   
VTSU accepts all general education credits and associate’s level VSCS graduation standards from CCV.

Transfer courses from regionally accredited institutions will be accepted if grades are C- or better, however, grades of C+ or higher are required for credit toward program requirements. Please note: All natural, physical, and social science courses need to be completed within the last ten years.

Admission to VTSU’s nursing programs is highly competitive. Successful completion of pre-nursing courses strengthens your application and saves time and money over the course of your nursing education. CCV’s Allied Health Preparation Certificate provides an excellent platform for completing pre-nursing coursework.

**Students who are transferring with 30 credits or more and have previously completed an intermediate research and writing intensive course are exempt from VTSU Connections Seminar 2.

Grades of C+ or higher are required for credit toward program requirements.
All natural and physical science courses need to be completed within the last ten years.
Additional courses that may be completed at CCV are CHE 1031, ENG 1070, and 6 credits of Arts & Aesthetics general education.
Students will be accepted into this program for a fall start term. Students take NUR 2100 at VTSU in their first fall semester.
