Information Technology Minor (CIT)

Vermont State University’s minor in Information Technology program provides the student with an introduction to many of the areas used in the modern IT infrastructure, including system administration, networking, and security. This minor pairs well with majors that feature a reliance on computing, such as business.
Upon completion of this minor, students will be able to:
- Install, monitor, and maintain simple computer networks
- Administer systems to provide shared services
- Apply best security practices to safeguard information systems
- Make ethical professional decisions in their careers

Electives for the minor (6 credits)
Select 6 credits of additional CIS courses, 3 credits of which must be at the 2000 level or higher and 3 credits must be at the 3000 level or higher. Total credits required: 21
