Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies at VTSU is a comprehensive degree program designed primarily for adult learners who are looking to advance their careers or pursue new professional opportunities. Traditional students interested in professional studies may also benefit from the flexibility and self-designed nature of this program. This degree is primarily offered in an online format, however it is also accessible to campus-based students in an face-to-face plus format at our campuses. The core program provides students with essential professional skills, including leadership, communication, and team building. Additionally, students identify an area of interest that supports their career goals, allowing for a tailored educational experience. The program is structured to accommodate the needs of both transfer students with up to 90 credits and working professionals who may not have prior academic credit. It offers a flexible and accessible learning environment, making it an ideal choice for individuals with diverse academic backgrounds and varying levels of professional experience. Program Outcomes

  1. Communicate with concise written, oral, visual, and interpersonal strategies to convey information and promote ideas in a professional environment.
  2. Lead and participate in teams; maintain respectful and collaborative relationships; and contribute to effective group outcomes.
  3. Apply digital and analytical tools to design business/organizational documents and presentations necessary for project management and problem solving.
  4. Recommend and apply best practices in management, motivation, and leadership concepts to create and sustain a positive organizational culture in a global and diverse environment.
  5. Articulate your professional goals and identify how your program of study will assist you in achieving these goals.

Graduation Requirements


To obtain a degree, students must fulfill the major-specific requirements as well as satisfy all other Degree Requirements  including the Connections General Education Program Requirements .
