Anthropology Minor (ANT)
|
|
The anthropology minor allows students to consider the rich diversity of human cultures through cross-cultural analyses of a wide variety of topics and perspectives including but not limited to environmental studies, religion, health, material-culture studies, and food. The minor requires an introductory course and a choice of five electives (two of which must be upper-level courses), and offers multiple options to gain a strong grounding in a particular facet of the discipline. Anthropology complements many related majors in the College of Education, Psychology, and Social Sciences, including but not limited to history, political science, and sociology.
Upon completion of this minor, students will be able to:
- Describe anthropology’s unique, comparative, and historically perspective on human behavior.
- Understand the approaches and methods used in the field of anthropology.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the variability of cultural practices around the world.
