Program Description
The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Fine Arts degree offers a solid background in traditional studio media as well as the latest in experimental arts technology. Students receive a firm foundation in drawing, sculpture, digital media and art history, with additional electives in painting, photography, printmaking, ceramics and more. The BFA program requires 60 credits of art-related courses, while the BA degree requires 45 credits. This additional, intensive work prepares students in the BFA program to go on to graduate study in a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program and a career as a professional artist.
Students apply for formal acceptance into the BFA program by submitting a portfolio of art work during their third semester of study. Students must earn formal acceptance prior to the completion of 60 credits. If this requirement is not complete, students may remain in the Fine Arts BA program.
