The history minor is designed to introduce students to a range of historical regions and topics.
History minors will develop a solid understanding of historical inquiry and methodologies, including the careful and creative use of primary and secondary sources that are read critically and weighed carefully as historical evidence.
Outcomes
- knowledge of a variety of historical events, ideas, and individuals that have shaped the world through time.
- the ability to read scholarly literature effectively and apply this knowledge to an understanding of economic, political, social, and cultural historical forces.
- the ability to critically analyze, interpret, and synthesize primary historical materials effectively, identifying purpose and point of view.

Requirements for the minor (6 credits)
Electives for the minor (12 credits)
Take 12 additional credits of History electives (HIS). At least 6 credits must be at the 3000 level. Total credits required: 18
