GEY 1050 - The Earth through Time 4 cr
This is an introductory geology course which examines the evolution of the Earth, and the life on Earth, beginning 4.6 billion years ago. Recognizing and interpreting the geologic evidence that can be observed today is key to understanding how the Earth formed and developed. Of particular importance is the evidence present in sedimentary rocks and fossils. Lab activities include mineral and rock identification, sedimentary structure analysis, fossil identification, and field trips to interpret the geologic history of the surrounding region.
3 hours lecture, 3 hours lab
Offered: Spring, odd years There is a fee associated with this course. This course fulfills the Natural Science general education requirement.
