GEY 1030 - Dynamic Earth 4 cr
This is an introductory physical geology course which examines the processes that operate in the interior and on the surface of the Earth. Topics include rocks and minerals, volcanoes, earthquakes, plate tectonics, mountain building, glaciers, deserts, streams, and groundwater. Lab activities include mineral and rock identification, map use, and field trips that present the incredible variety of rocks and tectonic structures in the region.
3 hours of lecture, 3 hours of lab
Offered: Fall There is a fee associated with this course. This course fulfills the Natural Science general education requirement.
