COM 3850 - Social Media in the Media


3 cr

This course uses real world scenarios to address how social media is used across all media industries. Students will explore historical and global relevancy of platforms, as well as get a better understanding of demographics and tactics, algorithms and analytics, and privacy and anonymity issues. Students will use social media in a professional capacity, understand shareable media, write across various social media platforms, and establish a professional digital footprint.

Prerequisites: ENG 1061  (or equivalent) and COM 1220 - Introduction to Media and Communication .
