ENV 2110 - Energy Systems & Sustainability 3 cr
This course surveys renewable technologies and investigates the historical, societal, economic, environmental, and technological factors that have driven the development of our existing energy system and that will likely shape development of a sustainable energy infrastructure. Conventional and sustainable primary energy sources, uses, and impacts are compared and contrasted. Nations’ planning and experience of energy transition are examined for lessons learned and the potential for energy transition in the US is considered. This course is reading and writing intensive.
Prerequisites: ENG 1061 Offered: Fall, Spring This course fulfills the Natural Science general education requirement.
