AGR 3010 - Forest Management

4 cr

This course will introduce students to the skills needed in the forestry workplace, including development of a comprehensive Use Value-Appraisal Forest Management Plan for a particular woodlot. Emphasis will be on field skills, silviculture, mensuration, wildlife habitat, and practical applications. A final capstone project will be developed throughout the course.

3 hours of lecture, 4 hours of lab

Prerequisites: AGR 2130 - Dendrology, AGR 1080 - Applied Forest Mensuration, AGR 2140 - Applied Forest Silviculture, and BIO 1241 - Introduction to Forest Ecology
