HIS 1015 - History of Love, Sex, and Family 3 cr
This course uses a global/comparative approach to introduce students to the ways that historians think about sex, love, and family. We will explore themes such as sex and war, the role of the state in shaping people’s intimate lives, the intersections between religion and social class, changing courtship practices, and the ways that the politics of sex and family shaped the evolution of empires and nations.
