This course provides a basic understanding of both engineering focused computer-aided design (CAD) and artistic focused computer modeling. The student gains basic proficiency in using a solid-modeling parametric three-dimensional CAD program, such as Solidworks or Fusion 360 to build parts and simple assemblies. They also gain basic proficiency with three-dimensional artistic computer modeling software, such as Blender or Maya. In both cases, they will learn how to incorporate 3D scanning data (point-cloud) into their models.
