HIS 2030 - The History of New York City 3 cr Graded Only
This course is a comprehensive history of New York City from Dutch settlement to the present. It will examine the City’s evolution over time in such areas of life as economics, politics, culture, class structure, ethnicity, gender roles, race relations, recreational activities, and environmental change. The course will address the role of New York City in state, national and global history, but also have a parochial focus that will detail the historical course of specific neighborhoods and groups of people.
