COM 2325 - American Cinema GE 3 cr This course surveys U.S.-based cinema from the 1940s to the present, focusing on the Hollywood studio system’s evolution and its impact on American filmmaking. We will examine major trends in genre, style, and storytelling by analyzing significant films that shaped and responded to shifts in popular culture, industry practices, and audience expectations.
