CHE 1040 - General Chemistry for Engineering GE


4 cr
This is one-semester course on the fundamental principles of chemistry. Topics include atoms and molecules, chemical bonding, simple chemical structures, types of chemical reactions, stoichiometry, gases, thermochemistry, kinetics, and equilibrium.  Lab experiments reinforce concepts and cover laboratory skills and analytical techniques. This course is designed for engineering technology students and covers topics relevant to the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.

Lecture/Lab: 3 hours of lecture, 3 hours of lab
Prerequisite(s): MAT 1230  or math placement level 3
Typically offered: Spring
General education: This course fulfills the Natural Science general education requirement.
