MAT 2040 - Statistics & Science GE 4 cr This course introduces statistical concepts, analytical methods, and interpretations of data encountered in science. It emphasizes basic concepts of experimental design, analysis of both quantitative and categorical data, and statistical inferences. Topics include sampling distributions and standard errors; population parameters and estimators; hypothesis testing; chi-square statistics; t-tests; ANOVA and ANCOVA; correlation and regression models; nonparametric methods, and time series analysis.
Lecture/Lab: 4 hours of lecture Prerequisite(s): Math placement level 3 Typically offered: Fall, Spring General education: This course fulfills the Mathematics general education requirement.
