BIO 3155 - Vertebrate Biology 4 cr While vertebrates (Phylum Chordata) are a relatively small group of animals in comparison to much larger taxa (e.g. the phyla Arthropoda and Mollusca), they play a significant role in the ecology of almost all ecosystems. As vertebrates ourselves, we are inherently interested in vertebrate biology and evolutionary history. Vertebrate Biology explores the diversity of vertebrates as well as the ecology, behavior, biogeography, comparative anatomy, and evolutionary history of this important group.
