MEC 2050 - Thermodynamics & Heat Transfer 4 cr This course familiarizes the student with the first and second laws of thermodynamics, the equations of state, perfect gas processes, and various power cycles and they develop some skill in applying these principles to the analysis of devices which utilize the power cycles such as the Otto, Diesel, Rankine, and vapor-compression cycles. Topics include conduction, convection, and radiation heat transfer.
Lecture/Lab: 3 hours of lecture, 3 hours of lab Prerequisite(s): MEC 2010 , PHY 1051 Corequisite(s): MAT 1531 Typically offered: Spring Special fee: There is a fee associated with this course
