HIS 3440 - Modern Russia GE 3 cr This course offers a study of modern and contemporary Russia. This broad survey begins with the rule of Alexander I and takes up the principal phases of Russian, Soviet and post-Soviet history. The discussion highlights issues of leadership, the role of state, revolutionary movement, centrifugal forces, the role of religion and the development of economy, culture and society.
