HIS 3155 - Sports in American History GE 3 cr This course analyzes American society from the 1830s to the present through the lens of organized professional and amateur athletics. The course will probe what sports has to teach us about the process of American history in such areas of life as gender, race, ethnicity, economics, politics, religion, and regional/national identity. The experiences of participation and spectatorship will be addressed
