CRJ 3060 - Constitutional Law


3 cr
An introduction to American constitutional law, with an emphasis on U.S. Supreme Court decisions and the role of state constitutions and jurisprudence. The course will explore various methodologies of constitutional interpretation and modes of constitutional analysis. Topics covered include the role of the judiciary in reviewing acts of the political branches of government; the separation of powers and relations among the three branches of the federal government; limitations on the powers of the national and state government; and individual constitutional rights.

Prerequisite(s): CRJ 1010  or permission of instructor
