CPM 2030 - Introductions to Structures


4 cr
This course introduces the student to structures. It includes statics, strength of materials, and structural design and the preliminary analysis of the structural components, particularly beams. It focuses on dimensional lumber, engineered wood products, and steel. Design and construction considerations for reinforced concrete, connections, columns, and retaining walls are introduced.

Lecture/Lab: 3 hours of lecture, 3 hours of lab
Prerequisite(s): CPM 1111 ; MAT 1210 ; PHY 1030
