ATM 3332 - Advanced Synoptic-Dynamic Meteorology 3 cr This course expands upon the concepts introduced in ATM 3321 and ATM 3331 to accurately diagnose the atmosphere and incorporate forecasting techniques and strategies so that one can construct a forecast based on sound scientific principles and reasoning. Topics may include using quasi-geostrophic and potential vorticity frameworks to understand the development/decay and movement of synoptic scale midlatitude cyclones. This course also examines modern numerical weather prediction.
