Policy Rationale
Vermont State University (VTSU), in compliance with its regional accreditor, ensures the quality and integrity of its conferred degrees by requiring that at least 25% of credits completed for a degree must be taken in residency at the university.
Policy
All matriculated students must pass and earn a minimum number of credits at the university to be eligible for a VTSU degree.
For a baccalaureate degree, at least 30 credits, including substantial advanced coursework in the major or concentration, must be taken at VTSU. For an associate degree, at least 15 credits must be taken at VTSU.
