Policy Rationale
Vermont State University (VTSU) values strong academic achievement and recognizes the efforts of students. The Dean’s , President’s , and Part-Time Honors Lists publicly identify those students who have achieved strong academic success within a given semester. When students do not wish to have their name publicly disclosed, they have an option to remove their name from any published list; however, they still retain the honor.
Policy
VTSU calculates Dean’s, President’s, and Part-Time Student Honors for matriculated students at the end of each fall and spring semester. Students who complete VTSU letter graded credits in a single semester and who have no Incomplete, NP, F, or blank grades are eligible under the following standards:
- Full-time Students who complete 12 graded credits and achieve a 4.00 semester average will be placed on the President’s List.
- Full-time Students who complete 12 graded credits and achieve a semester average greater than 3.50 and less than 4.00 will be placed on the Dean’s List.
- Students who attempt and complete at least six graded credits but less than 12 who achieve a 4.0 semester average will be placed on the Part-time Student Honor’s List
- Full-time nursing and respiratory therapy students are eligible for term honors while enrolled in a non-graded clinical course.
Students who have submitted a FERPA hold will not have their name publicly shared.
